One such beautify country value every year 11millions around more than 1 cores foreign tourists are coming to India. Where 3.5% grows up. In fact, the tourism industry contributes towards 9% GDP but this is an amazing trajectory that comes to a sudden halt due to the pandemic. This has not just attached to our economy but it less left 12% of India’s population unemployed or jobless and this was the source of income for them to run their household but there is hope and that hope is you. You can make a difference and help in reviving the India tourism industry in many simple ways
The 6 ways to revive India’s tourism industry are as follows:-
1. Explore India:-
· First off, all see your country first.
· Every year 5 crore Indians traveler goes outside i.e. to a foreign country.
· Now how about to explore our own country.
· Did you know that each state in India is equivalent to a foreign country.
Example- Gulmarg of Kashmir has a more beautiful mountain than Switzerland. Meghalaya is known as the Scotland of the east.
Radhanagar beach in Andaman is regarded as Asia’s best beach.
Tulip garden of Uttarakhand is bigger than the Amsterdam tulip garden.
First, before you explore the world explore your own country.
2. Stay at Local hotels, palaces, & homestay:-
· India is known for its rich history and culture and there are many such forts and palaces that are converted into hotels, which are usually run, by locals or natives.
· There are many beautiful homestays in India where you can explore its local food, culture, and languages and another the advantage in many homestays, there are no hosts, so you can get the entire house and kitchen for yourself in the new place maintaining 100% social distancing.
· If u got an opportunity to learn closely about the destination then ensure to visit the local’s houses.
· For e.g. Get the opportunity to visit the house of locals in bisharagarh, Rajasthan share their food with them, and listen to their endless stories, this is quite a unique experience and you get to know so much about the place, in this manner, you can also help them.
3. GORGE on local food:-
· Indian food is like Indian culture, extremely rich, diverse and food is not just limited to butter chicken, paneer Makhan Wala and biryani.
· Every corner of the idea has invented its own food for e.g. Wazwan meal from Kashmir or dal bati churma from Rajasthan, you will experience a different.
· So bring out the desi foodie in you and visit local restaurants to gorge on local food just like them.
4. SHOP AT LOCAL MARKETS:-
· Who doesn’t love shopping while traveling?
· In India but next time before shopping from the high and brand, do visit local markets.
· Souvenirs, Jewellery, Clothes, Handicraft, the street of India has everything’s to offer you.
· For e.g. Delhi dilli haat or Shillong Bara Bazar or Jaipur’s Bapu bazaar.
In every city or village of India, you will get something that is special to you for that place.
· Well, this provides with an income and encouragement to the local art and artisans.
· And in fact, when you traveled to Varanasi, you visited some of the local factories where banarasi saree are been made, there is so much of detailed work that goes behind it and it is so much of hard work. I’m sure the price we pay is totally justified.
5. USE LOCAL TRANSPORT:-
· The yellow taxi from Kolkata or cycle a rickshaw from Lucknow, a boat ride from Varanasi, the houseboat of Kerala or Shikara from Kashmir.
· Use local transport as much as possible.
· This is not just an enjoyable experience, but a unique one too.
· And their one trip can feed them for a day.
6. TEACH THE LOCALS FOR FREE:-
· Well traveling, you will come across many such experienced where you will have to spend your time rather than money.
· When you travel to a new place, you definitely learn more but you can also teach them.
· Teach them about your place, your language; teach them how to expand their business or any new skill, which may help them.
· Few things are priceless and with the learnings draw from, they will definitely contribute towards the Indian country in the future, if not present.
Now I requested you all local service providers, Atithi Devo bhava, which means the guest, is god. Whenever a tourist travels to your destinations, ensure that you make their experience so memorable that when they return to their place they recommend your service, your destination. To the people they know, charge few extra bucks if required but never compromise on quality.
This the way you encourage the vocal for the local initiative can see our INDIAN TOURISM INDUSTRY revive the way it did.
